The Amber Holland Curling Team of Regina was presented with the 2011 Saskatchewan Sport Award for Team of the Year by Dave Pettigrew, Volunteer Vice President, Sask Sport Inc. during the Saskatchewan Curling Association’s Annual General Meeting and Awards reception on Saturday, April 28th 2012.

Gymnastics Coach of the Year Award and Finalist
Youth Male Athlete of the Year

In front of a large crowd of athletes, coaches and fans at the 2012 Saskatchewan Provincial Gymnastics Championships in Yorkton on Saturday, April 21st, Sask Sport Inc. Volunteer Secretary Treasurer, Sean Thompson presented Gymnastics Coach Markos Baikas with the 2011 Coach of the Year Award along with Finalist for Youth-Male Athlete of the Year, Gymnast Curtis Graves.

Volunteer Award

Joe Morrissey received the 2011 Saskatchewan Sport Volunteer Award in front of his family, friends and athletic peers at his 70th Birthday celebration on Sunday April 8 2012 in Saskatoon. Joe was presented his award by his long-time friend Bob Reindl, Executive Director, Saskatchewan Athletics.

Joe will also be recognized and honoured, along with Master Athlete of the year Finalist Carol Lafayette-Boyd, at the Saskatchewan Athletics Annual General Meeting on Nov 17, 2012.


Female Athlete of the Year Finalist

Sask Sport Inc. recognized Kaylyn Kyle of Saskatoon, as a finalist of the 2011 Saskatchewan Sport Awards, Female Athlete of the Year, at the Saskatchewan Soccer Association Recognition Awards Banquet which was held on Saturday, March 17.

Sask Sport Inc. honoured coach, Jeff Whiting with the 2011 Male Coach Dedication Award and athlete, Colette Bourgonje with the 2011 Athlete of the year Finalist award in front of their peers at the Sask Provincials Ski Championships on Sunday, March 11th at Sturgeon River Nordic Ski Centre. Natalie Good – Coach Dedication Female Award

Synchro Saskatchewan Coach Natalie Good received the 2011 Saskatchewan Sport Female Coach Dedication Award on Sunday, March 4, 2012 pool side at the Lawson Aquatic Centre, in Regina. The award presentation was made by Sask Sport Volunteer Board member Vice President, Sport Dave Pettigrew, in front of large cheering crowd of athletes, coaches, judges, volunteers and spectators at the Sandy Roberts National Stream Provincials. Emily Clark – Youth Female Athlete of the Year Finalist


Emily Clark, Youth Female Athlete of the Year Finalist, was honoured prior to puck drop at the Saskatoon Stars Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA 3rd playoff game vs. Swift Current on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Agriplace Arena, Saskatoon.

The 2010-11 University of Saskatchewan Huskie Women's Basketball Team, finalists for the 2011 Saskatchewan Sport Awards Team of the Year were honoured pre-game at a recent Huskie home game vs. the University of Regina Cougars on Saturday and presented their finalist award by Ellen Grewcock, Sask Sport Inc. Volunteer Board Member.
