As head coach of the Taiso Gymnastics Club in Saskatoon since 2001, as well as Gymnastics Saskatchewan's High Performance Coach and Gymnastics Canada's National Junior and Age Group Coach, Markos Baikas has helped two of his athletes - Jayd Lukenchuk and Anderson Loran - join Canada's Senior National Team. His other athletes have also achieved success by joining the Junior National and Junior National Age Group teams, as well as competing at various international, national, western and provincial competitions. Baikas balances his work between the club, provincial and national levels well, ensuring that his athletes receive proper training and have access to all of the resources necessary to allow them to succeed in their athletic and personal goals. He also hosts annual national training camps for athletes - three in Saskatchewan and five in Eastern and Western Canada - and travels with Team Saskatchewan and national level athletes to competitions around Canada and the world. Some of the events his athletes have competed in include: Junior World Championships, China National Championships, Canadian Championships, Toyota Cup in Japan, 2011 Pan American Games, the 2011 Commonwealth Games, and the Canada Winter Games.
