  • Has been actively coaching for 35 years.
  • Founded the Saskatoon Myracles Baton Club in 1985.
  • 1998 to 2004: As the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation (CBTF) National's Coaches representative from 1998 to 2004, Kirk created the coaches/judges database to keep track of coaches and judges levels, and dates each level was completed. Also responsible for upgrading the Level I and Level II CBTF coaches courses, including the CBTF National Skills Development Program.
  • 2003: Received the CBTF Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • 2002: Competition Director of the 2002 World Championships.
  • 1999-2000: Received the CBTF Volunteer of the Year.
  • 1992-93, 1994-95 and 2001-02: Received the SBTA Volunteer of the Year.
  • 1995: Received the 1995 M3 Innovation Coaching Award.
  • 1995, 1998 and 2001: Competition Director of the National Championships/Team Trials.
  • Athletes coached that qualified and participated at the world levels in: 2012 Switzerland, 2011 USA, 2010 Norway, 2009 Australia, 2008 Ireland, 2007 Canada, 2006 Italy, 2005 USA, 2004 Japan, 1999 USA, 1998 France, 1997 USA, 1996 Italy, 1994 Canada, 1993 Holland, 1992 France, 1991 Italy.
  • Athletes coached have medaled at the world level and received Provincial and Canadian Achievement awards.
  • Qualified to judge WNTF events and World Baton Twirling Federation (WBTF) events.
  • Certified Course conductor for Coaches and Judges Programs. Attained Judging levels: M1, M2, M3, M4, M5 and Masters.
