The Saskatchewan Sport Awards ceremony was held on March 25 at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina. The sport awards recognize the province's finest amateur athletes, coaches, and volunteers for their outstanding accomplishments and dedication to sport. Congratulations to all of this year's recipients and nominees, including the 2009 Sask Sport Inc. Athlete of the Year Award winners.

Lyndon Rush, 2010 Olympian bronze medalist and Saskatchewan native, was the special guest at this year's Sport Awards. Born in Humboldt, Rush played five years with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies football team. In 2004, he transitioned to the sport of bobsleigh and joined the national development team, learning to become a pilot. At the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, his first Olympic Games, Rush led the Canada 1 four-man team to a bronze medal.
