    KIDSPORT SASKATCHEWAN KICKS OFF KIDSPORT MONTH
    The official launch of KidSport Month in Saskatchewan took place on May 2nd at Sacred Heart Community School in Regina. The launch featured the Honourable Mark Docherty, Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport, Dale Kraus, Vice President, Client Services Centre, Canada Life Reinsurance - Great West Life, London Life and Canada Life, Don McDougall, past Chairperson representing the Provincial KidSport Committee and Don Narcisse, former Rider great.

    SASKATCHEWAN PARA-SPORT TOUR - DREAM RELAY
    This Dream Tour is all about bringing awareness of Para-sports and how to get involved in sport Province Wide. Kids can be excluded from sports due to a variety of reasons including but not limited to ability, economics, demographics, people in cultural environments that deter motivation to engage in physical activity, distance from facilities and lack of access to transportation, or lack of access to resources.

    During the tour, Saskatchewan Wheelchair Sport Association will be holding "Just Try It" sessions: June 7 in Prince Albert, June 11 in Saskatoon, June 14 in Yorkton, June 16 in Swift Current and June 17 in Regina. Learn More

     

     

    SASKATCHEWAN COACHES CONFERENCE
    May 6 & 7 - Saskatoon Inn and Conference Centre
    This Multi-sport Coaches conference is designed to benefit all levels of coach from all sports. Featuring leading edge topics delivered in three workshops, twelve breakout sessions, and two keynote speakers. If you coach: Secondary School, High School, Club, Provincial Teams, Canada Games, NAIG, First Nation Games, University, National Team or Professional and want to continue "Making a Difference" this conference is for you!     SASK SPORT INC. ANNOUNCES THE MARCH ATHLETE OF THE MONTH AWARD RECIPIENT
    Brianne Theisen-Eaton of Humboldt was the recipient of the Sask Sport Inc. March Athlete of the Month Award. She was nominated by Saskatchewan Athletics. Competing in the Heptathlon discipline at the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Indoor Championships, Theisen-Eaton won a gold medal and established a new Saskatchewan Athletics and Athletics Canada open/senior women's indoor pentathlon record. She finished with a score of 4,881 in the event, which is made up of 60 metre hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and the 800m. Theisen-Eaton's Road to Rio continues with the upcoming Olympic Trials (Canadian Senior Championships) in July. Media Release

     

    SASK SPORT INC. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
    Sask Sport Inc.'s 44th Annual General Meeting will be held Saturday, June 11 at Conexus Arts Centre in Regina. Registration will begin at 8:30 am and stay open until 1:00 pm. There will be a Membership Session from 9:30 am - 11:30 am followed by a Luncheon at 11:45 am and the Annual General Meeting at 1:00 pm. Active and Affiliate members should have received the 1st AGM Notice from Sask Sport recently. Please contact Kristen Attwood at kattwood@sasksport.sk.ca or (306) 780-9354 prior to June 3, 2016, if you did not receive the information or if you require more information.

     

     

    STRATEGIES FOR HIDDEN DISABILITIES IN SPORT AND COMMUNITY ACTIVITY
    This informative seminar will give you a glimpse into the world of Hidden Disabilities (ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Brain Injury) and provide coaches, instructors, community leaders, teachers, and employers with the tools to better support and accommodate those under your care, on and off the field. With a specific focus on Sport and Community Activity, this seminar is geared toward supporting athletes and activity participants to provide them greater opportunity for success.
    When: May 16, 2016 from 9 am to 12 pm OR June 15, 2016 from 1 pm to 4 pm
