    CONGRATULATIONS! We are #SaskProud
    Team Sask concluded the 2017 Canada Summer Games tied for 6th in overall performance
    After two weeks of intense competition in 16 different sports, the 2017 Canada Summer Games concluded with Team Sask finished in a tie with Nova Scotia for 6th place in the final flag point standings. Flag points are awarded to each team, male and female, based on their final placing in that sport; the accumulation of those placings rank the thirteen provinces & territories on how well each did in all sports throughout the Games.     Have you recently changed your RiS Administrator within your organization? For all Sask Sport PSGB’s new administrators we have planned some RiS Administrator Training Workshops on Tuesday, September 12th at 10:00 am and Wednesday, September 20th at 2:00 pm. Registration is mandatory prior to the session at http://webinars.respectgroupinc.com/. This on-line session will be 30 minutes in length. If you have already taken the course and would like a refresher, you may sign up too!

    RiS for Coaches is an on-line training program for coaches and sport leaders, designed as a tool to assist them in identifying and dealing with abuse, neglect, harassment, and bullying in sport. Sask Sport Inc. believes that we should all be proactive in making sport in Saskatchewan as safe as possible and welcoming for all participants. RiS on-line training is mandatory for all of our registered Coaches; helping promote and provide a better sport environment for all.     South West District for Culture, Recreation, and Sport & Fast and Female invite you to Swift Current Composite Gymnasium, Sunday, September 17th, 2017 from 1:00-5:00pm for a "Champ Chat" including a run, jump, throw, wheel circuit, yoga, autographs, and an inspirational chat with our Fast and Female Ambassadors. @CSCSaskatchewan we are #SaskProud of ambassadors Kelsie Hendry, Jessica Furlan & Jessica Frotten who will all be on-hand to help develop a strong foundation for ALL sports. Using track and field inspired games, activities and skill challenges led by instructors specifically trained to teach the fundamentals of running, jumping, throwing and wheeling!

    SASK SPORT INC. ANNOUNCES THE AUGUST ATHLETE OF THE MONTH AWARD RECIPIENT
    Janice Boucher of Prince Albert was the recipient of the Sask Sport Inc. July Athlete of the Month Award. She was nominated by the Saskatchewan Horse Federation. Boucher won two gold medals at the World Para Reining International Championships in Ermelo, Netherlands. She won one in the Two-Man Para Reining Team Division and the other in the Individual Member Division as part of Team Canada. She also won the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Highest Scoring Riding Award. Her accomplishments were even more remarkable since she rode a borrowed horse at the competition due to the high cost of shipping horses internationally. Team Canada was also the only team to have two scores in the 200s during the team event, which placed them on the podium for gold. Media Release

     


    Deadline: September 20, 2017
    Created by Dairy Farmers of Canada to empower the female athletic community and provide a resource that can help change the game for Canada's young girls and women athletes, this year the Champions Fund will award $5,000 grants to 30 deserving female athletes, teams, or organizations to help pursue their athletic goals.     The Parasport grants are funded through Sask Sport Inc. with proceeds from Saskatchewan Lotteries, the main fundraiser for more than 12,000 sport, culture and recreation groups in the province.

    Parasport Sport Equipment Grant
    The Parasport Equipment Grant provides financial assistance to assist the purchase of adapted equipment for people with a disability to participate in organized sport programs. The cost of specialized (adapted) equipment for athletes with a disability is a significant barrier to their participation. Application Form

    Parasport Club Development Grant
    The Parasport Club Development Grant provides financial assistance to support "new" developmental programs in communities, or the expansion of existing sport programs for persons with a disability (such as new age groups, a new gender, or a new sport within an existing club setting). Funds can be used to offset regular costs related to program delivery, such as facility rental, coaching development, officiating, travel assistance, etc. Application Form

    Application Deadlines:
    Clubs must submit applications to PSGB's and Districts by March 22 and/or September 22 annually.
    PSGB's must submit applications to Sask Sport by April 1 and/or October 1 annually.

     

    NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR THE SASKATCHEWAN ORDER OF MERIT
    Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield announced nominations will be accepted until November 1, 2017 for the next round of potential recipients for the province’s highest honour – the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. The Saskatchewan Order of Merit provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate citizens who significantly impact the social, cultural and economic well-being of the province. Read More
