CLAY DEBRAY HIRED AS NEW MÉTIS COMMUNITY SPORT CONSULTANT
In partnership with the Métis Nation-Saskatchewan, Sask Sport Inc. is pleased to announce that Clay DeBray has been hired as the Métis Community Sport Consultant. DeBray, who will be based in Saskatoon, has extensive experience in the amateur sport system in Saskatchewan. In his new position, DeBray will focus on Métis sport development at the grassroots level, including providing assistance and leadership to stakeholders to develop and deliver sport programs.

LUCAS MAKOWSKY NAMED SASK SPORT INC. DECEMBER ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
Makowsky, 22, competed in the 2009 Canadian Single Distance Championships as part of the National Olympic Trials for long track speed skating. At this event, he finished first in both the 5000m and 1500m events. As a result of this placing, he qualified for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Makowsky also competed in World Cup #4, finishing second in Team Pursuit, tenth in the 1500m, and seventeenth in the 5000m. He also competed at World Cup #5, where he finished third in Team Pursuit, eighth in the 1500m, and twentieth in the 5000m.

2010 SASKATCHEWAN WINTER GAMES AWARDS
The 2010 Saskatchewan Winter Games in Moose Jaw were a huge success! The Joe Griffith trophy is awarded to the district team who shows the most improvement from their final standing at previous Saskatchewan Games. The comparison is made on a winter to winter and summer to summer basis. The 2010 Joe Griffith Trophy was won by Team South East. The Games Flag Winner is determined by the aggregate sport points, which means that the team who earns the most sport points during the week of competition will win the Games Flag. The 2010 Games Flag was won by Team Regina.
