2015 SASKATCHEWAN SPORT AWARDS PRESENTATION AND RECEPTION
Sask Sport Inc. is hosting the 2015 SASKATCHEWAN SPORT AWARDS PRESENTATION AND RECEPTION in REGINA at the CONEXUS ARTS CENTRE, Theatre Lobby on Monday, MARCH 21, 2016. Doors open at 6:30 pm and greetings and award presentations honouring the 2015 Sport Award Recipients will start at approximately 7:00 pm. A reception will follow the award presentations, giving everyone a chance to congratulate the award recipients.

SASKATCHEWAN PARA-SPORT TOUR - DREAM RELAY
This Dream Tour is all about bringing awareness of Para-sports and how to get involved in sport Province Wide. Kids can be excluded from sports due to a variety of reasons including but not limited to ability, economics, demographics, people in cultural environments that deter motivation to engage in physical activity, distance from facilities and lack of access to transportation, or lack of access to resources.
During the tour, Saskatchewan Wheelchair Sport Association will be holding "Just Try It" sessions: June 7 in Prince Albert, June 11 in Saskatoon, June 14 in Yorkton, June 16 in Swift Current and June 17 in Regina.

SASKATCHEWAN COACHES CONFERENCE
May 6 & 7 - Saskatoon Inn and Conference Centre
This Multi-sport Coaches conference is designed to benefit all levels of coach from all sports. Featuring leading edge topics delivered in three workshops, twelve breakout sessions, and two keynote speakers. If you coach: Secondary School, High School, Club, Provincial Teams, Canada Games, NAIG, First Nation Games, University, National Team or Professional and want to continue "Making a Difference" this conference is for you! Coaches earn Professional Development points towards their NCCP Maintenance of Certification.

PARASPORT EQUIPMENT & CLUB DEVELOPMENT GRANT
Active or Affiliate members of Sask Sport Inc. are eligible to apply for support, but in addition, member organizations may partner with local or community organizations/clubs to further develop capacity for Parasport programming in the province for equipment and club development.

SASK SPORT INC. ANNOUNCES THE JANUARY ATHLETE OF THE MONTH AWARD RECIPIENT
Kurt Oatway of Regina is the recipient of the Sask Sport Inc. January Athlete of the Month Award. He was nominated by the Saskatchewan Alpine Ski Association. Oatway won a gold medal in giant slalom sit ski at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) World Cup Giant Slalom in Slovenia. He also won two gold medals in the sit ski downhill events at the IPC World Cup Downhill in France. Due to his performance, Oatway has been selected to participate in the pre-trial run of the 2018 Paralympic venue at Yongpyong, Korea in March.

NORTH BATTLEFORD TO HOST 2018 SASKATCHEWAN WINTER GAMES
Saskatchewan Games Council Chairperson, Julie Brandt, officially announced the City of North Battleford as the host community for the 2018 Saskatchewan Winter Games. "The Saskatchewan Games Council views North Battleford as an ideal community to host the Saskatchewan Winter Games," Brandt said. "With the enthusiasm and passion shown by the community along with the excellent venues, we are confident North Battleford will create a memorable multi-sport games experience for all involved".

DIAMOND GIRLS - #SSHF50 Anniversary Celebrations
As part of the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame 50th anniversary celebrations they are showcasing their inductees' stories and accomplishments. One very unique opportunity presented itself when Menagerie Productions and playwright, Maureen Ulrich proposed Diamond Girls a one-act, one-woman play focusing on the involvement of three Saskatchewan women and SSHF inductees - Arleene Johnson Noga, Mary Baker, and Daisy Junor - who participated in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) during the 1940's.

LEADING THE WAY: WORKING WITH LGBT ATHLETES AND COACHES WEBINAR

Led by Jennifer Birch-Jones, CAAWS Addressing Homophobia in Sport Project Lead
The webinar will profile CAAWS' resource developed for coaches and sport administrators to learn best practices and tips to make sport more welcoming to LGBT athletes and coaches. During the session, key topics from the resource will be highlighted, including taking stock in your organization, how to use inclusive language and address disrespectful language, dealing with an LGBT athlete or coach coming out to you, addressing locker room concerns, and more.
