SASKATCHEWAN SPORT AWARDS TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE
Tickets for the 2010 Saskatchewan Sport Awards are now available. The ceremony is scheduled for April 7, 2011 at TCU Place in Saskatoon, and promises to be an evening of entertainment and inspiration. Former NHL coach, motivator and philanthropist Ted Nolan will address the audience, and some of Saskatchewan’s most impressive athletes, coaches, volunteers and officials will be honoured.

NORTHERN COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL RECREATION COORDINATOR PROGRAM TRAINING
The Northern Sport, Culture and Recreation District will be hosting a Northern Community and School Recreation Coordinator Program training event on February 9, 10 and 11, 2011 in Prince Albert. Representatives of over 20 Northern communities and schools will be in attendance. COACHES WEEK IN SASKATCHEWAN
The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan has chosen May 22 – 29, 2011 as Coaches Week in Saskatchewan. The week is designed to recognize and celebrate the valuable contributions coaches make to sport and their communities. The week also aims to promote coaching, encourage people to become coaches, and to offer education opportunities for Saskatchewan coaches. Watch for more information on Coaches Week activities as plan progress. Sport Organizations, Communities, Districts, Schools, Universities, Tribal Councils, etc. are encouraged to consider doing something for coaches during Coaches Week 2011. CASSANDRA BRASSARD NAMED SASK SPORT INC. DECEMBER ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
From Dec. 10-12, Brassard competed at the Paul Bergen International Championships, where she placed fifth in the 50m backstroke, 10th in the 100m backstroke and 16th in the 200m backstroke. She also set provincial records in the 50m and 100m backstroke. Brassard competed at the Invitation de Noel from Dec. 17-19, where she placed first in seven events and set a provincial record in the 100m backstroke. Swimming in three back-to-back meets, Brassard improved her performance as time passed, consistently improving on her personal bests.
