AUDRA YOUNG ELECTED NEW PRESIDENT OF SASK SPORT INC.
Audra Young was elected President of Sask Sport Inc. at the sport federation's annual general meeting on June 19th in Regina. Elected to the board in 2008, Young served as the Chairperson of the Sport Funding Committee, Vice President of the Trust and on the Community Funding Committee, and the Aboriginal Sport Leadership Council. She has also been a member of the Community Initiatives Fund, the Rainbow Youth Centre, and Family Service Regina's Board of Directors.

TEAM SASKATCHEWAN MALE HOCKEY TEAM NAMED SASK SPORT INC. MAY ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
The team claimed their third consecutive championship title at the 2010 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships held in Ottawa, Ontario, after defeating Manitoba 8-1 in the final game. A total of 10 teams competed at the event from nine other provinces.

SASKATOON'S WAKERIDE 2010 RIVER FESTIVAL IS RAISING MONEY FOR INNER CITY YOUTH
Inspiring inner city youth to believe anything is possible is the goal of a new summer festival in Saskatoon's downtown. WakeRide, a youth- and family-centered festival taking place on July 9-11 at Rotary Park and River Landing, is a combination of world-class wakeboarding competitions, great music and summer fun. Featuring pro-riders, like Saskatchewan-born world champion Rusty Malinoski, and hot music from The Trews, Default and more, the event is expected to attract up to 20,000 people to Rotary Park, as well as to the family-oriented activities at River Landing.

KIDSPORT™ MONTH A SUCCESS
During KidSport™ Month this May, local KidSport™ committees in communities across Saskatchewan hosted a variety of events and activities, including the Great Saskatchewan Hot Dog Sale and Kompanies for Kids. Through Kompanies for Kids, organizations and businesses allow their employees to dress casually or in their favourite sports attire for either a day or a week in exchange for a donation to KidSport™.

SASKATCHEWAN COACHES CONFERENCE
The Saskatchewan Coaches Conference held in Saskatoon on May 28-30 was a huge success with over 140 coaches participating. Saskatchewan Olympians, Hayley Wickenheiser and Lucas Makowsky were a hit. 3 plenary and 25 breakout sessions were delivered over the 3 day conference. The feedback received from delegates was very positive.
