    TAVIA LALIBERTE ELECTED CHAIR OF SASK SPORT INC.
    Tavia Laliberte was elected Chair of Sask Sport Inc.'s Board of Directors following the sport federation's Annual General Meeting. Laliberte joined the board in 2014 after being nominated by the Rivers West District for Sport, Culture and Recreation. Before joining Sask Sport Inc., Laliberte served on numerous volunteer committees including the North West Regional Intersectoral Committee, and she participated in the 2012 Governor General's Canadian Leadership Conference. She is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the North West College.

    The outgoing Chair is Todd Fuchs, who was nominated to the board in 2013 by Football Saskatchewan. Prior to joining the board, Fuchs served as the President of the University of Regina Rams' Board of Directors, and played junior football with the Rams from 1990-94. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer at the Brandt Group of Companies in Regina.

    Sask Sport's Executive officers include:

  • Cathy Gale, Vice Chair, Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund for Sport, Culture and Recreation

    Gavin Schmitt (@SchmittyGav) is a Saskatchewan athlete that has earned the opportunity to compete for his country. As a member of Team Canada / Équipe Canada, Gavin is heading to compete for #TeamCanada Men's Volleyball at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.     20TH ANNUAL REGINA KIDSPORT FUN AND FITNESS CORPORATE CHALLENGE
    Regina KidSport 20th Anniversary Corporate Challenge was held at the University of Regina on Saturday, June 11, 2016 and was a huge success, with a total of 28 teams participating! This annual event is proudly presented by Great West Life, London Life and Canada Life and this year it raised over $123,000 for Regina KidSport. Read More

     

    NOMINATE YOUR UNSUNG HERO!
    The 2016 Peter Soumalias Unsung Hero Honour is an initiative that annually recognizes an 'everyday' Canadian whose outstanding work, project or volunteer efforts related to the arts, culture or sports positively impacts their community and inspires the next generation. The annual recipient will be announced in the fall and will receive a $5,000 honorarium and a trip to Toronto to experience the 2016 Canada's Walk of Fame Celebration Events on October 6th, where they will be recognized for their contributions and inspiring work.     SASK SPORT INC. ANNOUNCES THE MAY ATHLETE OF THE MONTH AWARD RECIPIENT
    Lauren Cey of Saskatoon was the recipient of the Sask Sport Inc. Athlete of the Month Award. She was nominated by Dive Sask. At the Western Canadian Championships, Cey placed first in two of her events and set a provincial record. She qualified for the National Championships as a result of her performance.     CORE TRAINING FOR COACH DEVELOPERS
    The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan will be hosting Core Training for Coach Developers in Regina and Saskatoon. These events will provide Learning Facilitators (LFs), Coach Evaluators (CEs) and Master Coach Developers (MCDs) with an opportunity to complete their Core Training requirements.

    Regina:
    Core Training for LFs - September 24, 2016
    Core Training for CEs - September 25, 2016
    Core Training for MCDs - October 15, 2016
