KALI CHRIST NAMED SASK SPORT INC.FEBRUARY ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
Christ placed first in the 500m, 1000m and 1500m at the 2010 North American Long Track Championships/American Cup III, an international event with 32 participants from three countries. She also placed second in the 3000m and second overall at the Championships. As a result of her outstanding performance, Christ was named to the 2010 Junior World Team.

COLETTE BOURGONJE NAMED SASK SPORT INC. JANUARY ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
Bourgonje competed at the 2010 International Paralympic Committee World Cup in Bessans, France, where she placed first in the 5km race with a time of 18:29.9. She also placed third in the Cross Country Sprint race with a time of 3:20.84. She will be competing at the Paralympic Games in Vancouver in March.

SASKATCHEWAN CELEBRATES OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC SUCCESS
The Government of Saskatchewan today thanked everyone involved in the Olympic and Paralympic pavilions. "To the pavilion team, the staff, the entertainers, the volunteers, the corporate and city partners - to everyone involved - I want to say a heartfelt thank you," Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Dustin Duncan said. "We did a fantastic job of showcasing Saskatchewan to the world and I am proud this event will leave a lasting legacy right here in Saskatchewan."

2010 FIRST NATION WINTER GAMES
The First Nations Winter Games is set to take place on April 5-10, 2010, hosted by the Saskatoon Tribal Council. The Games will bring together First Nations youth from across the province to participate in hockey, volleyball, broomball, badminton, and curling. This year's theme for the Games is: "Our Youth; Our Strength; Our Future." If you are interested in volunteering at the Games, there are a wide range of opportunities available, from helping as a score keeper in hockey, volleyball, and broomball, to assisting at the Opening Ceremonies or VIP/Special Events (Evenings Only), or helping with the medical team, food and accommodations.

FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR STUDENT SUMMER WORKS PROGRAM
The Ministry of Advanced Education, Employment and Labour has announced that funding is available for a Student Summer Works Program, formerly know as the Student Employment Experience Program, for the 2010-11 fiscal year. The funding will be for summer work experiences only. The program's deadline is April 15, 2010.

14th ANNUAL KIDSPORT™ CORPORATE CHALLENGE
The 14th Annual KidSport™ Corporate Challenge, proudly presented by Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life takes place on Saturday, May 8th at the University of Regina. This fundraising event is designed to attract teams from Regina and area to raise money for KidSport™ Saskatchewan. Teams should register with a roster of 8 participants (minimum 3 men and 3 women). The Challenge will consist of events incorporating fun and teamwork.

The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan (CAS) has designated May 22-29, 2010 as “Coaches Week in Saskatchewan” and encourages Provincial Sport Organizations, Schools, Districts, Tribal Councils, Clubs & Communities to do something special for coaches that week.
