KIDSPORT™ FUN AND FITNESS CORPORATE CHALLENGE SETS NEW FUNDRAISING RECORD
The 14th Annual KidSport™ Fun and Fitness Corporate Challenge was a tremendous success, raising a record level of over $126,000 thanks to the support of corporations and individuals from Regina and area. The Fun and Fitness Corporate Challenge, which is proudly presented by Great-West Life, London Life, and Canada Life, took place on Saturday, May 8 at the University of Regina. A record number of 35 teams participated. All of the money raised through the event goes towards KidSport™, a registered children's charity that helps less fortunate children across the province to participate in community sport programs.

TEAM SASKATCHEWAN CLAIMS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR
Team Saskatchewan recently competed at the 2010 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in Ontario with outstanding results. Saskatchewan's female team placed fourth in the championships, after a hard battle with Ontario South in the bronze medal match. Team Saskatchewan Male won gold, after defeating Manitoba 8 to 1 in the final game, gaining the National Championship title for the third year in a row. Congratulations to the athletes, coaches and managers for Team Saskatchewan. Developmental support for Team Saskatchewan is provided through the Aboriginal Excellence Program.

CELEBRATE COACHES WEEK IN SASKATCHEWAN
The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan, along with the Province of Saskatchewan are pleased to announce that the first-ever Coaches Week in Saskatchewan will be held from May 22-29, 2010. The week is designed to recognize and celebrate the valuable contributions coaches make to sport and their communities. The week also aims to promote coaching, encourage people to become coaches, and offer education opportunities for Saskatchewan coaches.

SASK SPORT INC. AGM
Sask Sport Inc. will hold its Annual General Meeting on Saturday, June 19 at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina. The AGM includes the election of the Board of Directors and reports from Sask Sport Inc. divisions. Registration opens at 9:00 am and membership sessions will be held from 9:30 - 11:45 am. The lunch program begins at noon followed by the AGM at 1 p.m.

TIM LANDERYOU NAMED SASK SPORT INC. APRIL ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
Landeryou from Saskatoon and his partner Mike Green, from Ontario, won gold in the Men's Open Doubles division at the Pan American Racquetball Championships. A total of 13 teams competed in the division.

CHEVROLET ANNOUNCES 2010 HIGH PERFORMANCE AND COMMUNITY CLUB COACH GRANT RECIPIENTS
Ten Canadian high performance coaches and their Olympic hopeful athletes were each awarded a $10,000 grant for coach development through Chevrolet’s Making Dreams Possible Program. In addition, 51 community clubs from across Canada each received a grant of $2,000 for coach training and development activities.

SPORTS DAY IN CANADA
Do you have a sport event or activity being held in July/August or early September?
Sports Day in Canada is a new national event that celebrates sport at all levels across Canada. Using the model that CBC created for Hockey Day in Canada and building off the momentum of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Sports Day in Canada is an opportunity to showcase all manner of sports, while mobilizing the nation in the power of being active. Sports Day in Canada will be the culmination of a week (September 11-18, 2010) of sporting events and festivals, celebrating grassroots sport stories, engaging citizens in physical activity and rallying local organizations to provide participatory opportunities in communities across Canada.
