SASKATCHEWAN COACHES CONFERENCE
The conference is designed to benefit all levels of coaches from all sports (playground to podium). We are extremely pleased to announce that five-time Olympian Hayley Wickenheiser and recent Olympic gold medalist Lucas Makowsky will speak at the conference. SASKATCHEWAN OLYMPIANS AND PARALYMPIANS JOIN FORCES WITH THE REGINA POLICE SCHOOL RESOURCES AND REGINA SCHOOLS
Saskatchewan Olympians and Paralympians who participated in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games made a special visit yesterday to Grades 5 to 8 students at eight Regina elementary schools. The athletes joined together with officers from the Regina Police School Resources to visit the students and to share the positive messages of goal setting, overcoming obstacles, making healthy choices, and good self-esteem. TEAM SASKATCHEWAN TO COMPETE AT THE NATIONAL ABORIGINAL HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS
Over 40 Aboriginal athletes from Team Saskatchewan will be attending the ninth annual National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC) in Ottawa from May 2-8, 2010. The Championships, which feature the country's best young male and female Aboriginal hockey athletes, will bring together over 800 athletes, coaches, officials, and many more spectators. COACHES WEEK IN SASKATCHEWAN
The Coaches Association of Saskatchewan (CAS) has designated May 22-29, 2010 as “Coaches Week in Saskatchewan” and encourages Provincial Sport Organizations, Schools, Districts, Tribal Councils, Clubs & Communities to do something special for coaches that week. CAS is finalizing activities that will celebrate and recognize coaches during Coaches Week so visit www.saskcoach.ca to keep up to date as plans progress. EMILY SCHAAN NAMED SASK SPORT INC. MARCH ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
Schaan won gold at the Edmonton International Judo Championships Senior Women Division, and she also won gold at the Edmonton International Judo Championships U 17 Division. She won gold again at the Michel Beauvais International Judo Tournament U17 Division in Paris, France. Read More

KidSport™ Saskatchewan, SaskEnergy and the Saskatchewan Roughriders are proud to announce a record-setting sales year for the SaskEnergy Saskatchewan Roughriders Calendar for KidSport™. In its fourth year of operation, the 2010 SaskEnergy Saskatchewan Roughriders Calendar raised a total of $178,445 for KidSport™ Saskatchewan; over $67,000 more than was raised in 2009. Read More

 

MAY IS KIDSPORT™ MONTH IN SASKATCHEWAN
May is KidSport™ Month in Saskatchewan. The month was officially declared in the province by the Honourable Dustin Duncan, Minister of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport, and Don McDougall, Chair of KidSport™ Saskatchewan. A launch for KidSport™ Month, which is designed to help raise awareness and funds for KidSport™, a registered children's charity, was held at Wascana School in Regina on April 30. Read More
