The Saskatchewan Sport Awards will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at TCU Place in Saskatoon. Please mark your calendars and plan to join in this evening of celebration. SASKENERGY SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS CALENDAR
SaskEnergy, KidSport™ Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Roughriders are once again teaming up to produce a one-of-a-kind Rider calendar that captures some of the most memorable moments in Rider history to raise money for KidSport™. The 2011 SaskEnergy Saskatchewan Roughriders Calendar will feature Rider fan favourites from the past like Narcisse, Holmes and Baylis and current favourites such as Dressler, Durant, and Fantuz. Calendars will be sold for $20 through major Saskatchewan retailers, including: Shoppers Drug Mart, The Rider Store, Sobeys, participating Co-op locations and Scotiabank, as well as other select locations. 1989 JEUX CANADA GAMES FOUNDATION GOES ONLINE FOR APPLICATIONS
The 1989 Jeux Canada Games Foundation Inc. has developed an online application process for incorporated sports organizations in the province interested in applying for a grant from the Foundation. While groups can still apply this year in writing, those choosing to go digital should visit www.funding.sasksport.sk.ca/jeuxcanada/Login.aspx to make their application online by
November 30. A password is required to begin the process so those interested should email Jayant when ready to apply. If you have already applied in writing this year, there is no need to duplicate your application online. Read More

SASK SPORT INC. WELCOMES:
Sask Sport welcomes Carla Seeseequasis & Noreen Murphy. Carla has joined Sask Sport as the Administrative Assistant for the Aboriginal Services Unit. Noreen has joined Sask Sport to work in the Sport Division and will coordinate programs and services relevant to Organizational Development & other special program assignments. Both Carla and Noreen will be working out of the Administration Centre office at 510 Cynthia Street, Saskatoon. Welcome!

 

CHRISTINE SELINGER NAMED ATHLETE OF THE MONTH FOR AUGUST BY SASK SPORT INC.
On Aug. 19-22, Selinger competed at the ICF Senior World Championships in Poland, where she won gold in the LTA V1, and silver in the TA K1. She also competed at this year’s CKC Sprint National Championships where she won silver in the LTA K1, and gold in the LTA K2 division. Read More

 

KELLY WIEBE NAMED ATHLETE OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER BY SASK SPORT INC.
Representing the University of Regina, cross-country runner Kelly Wiebe, won the Regina Cougar Trot, which helped his team to a first place overall finish. Wiebe also won the men's Division II category at the Roy Graik Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota. His win contributed to an overall sixth place finish for the University of Regina team who were competing against 28 other, predominantly American, universities and colleges. Wiebe was nominated by Saskatchewan Athletics. Read More
