    ABORIGINAL CHAMPIONS ANNOUNCED
    These champions are successful athletes and/or coaches and serve as outstanding role models for the Aboriginal community. It is our intent to promote their inspiring messages, and encourage others to participate in sport to the extent of their interest and abilities. The program consists of posters, advertisements, website articles, and other resources.
    Those selected for the Aboriginal Champions Program include:

    IN MOTION COMMUNITY PLEDGE CHALLENGE LAUNCHED
    The in motion Community Pledge Challenge was officially launched by Mayor Glenn Hagel, Saskatchewan in motion and Moose Jaw in motion. The challenge is offering Saskatchewan communities the chance to win $10,000 for a community project or initiative that increases the physical activity of our province’s children and youth.     1989 JEUX DU CANADA GAMES FOUNDATION
    The 1989 Jeux du Canada Games left Saskatoon and Saskatchewan with legacies in facilities, community development and sport. Sport equipment from the Games was distributed to communities and organizations throughout the province for use by amateur athletes. The 1989 Jeux du Canada Games Foundation seeks to maximize another legacy of the Games - funds remaining after the completion of the event. The Foundation distributes the interest accrued on the invested money on an annual basis to assist in the development of amateur sport in Saskatchewan. The SaskEnergy Network, KidSport™ Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Roughriders are once again teaming up to produce a one-of-a-kind Rider calendar that captures some of the most memorable moments in Rider history to raise money for KidSport™.     CURTIS GRAVES NAMED SEPTEMBER SASK SPORT INC ATHLETE OF THE MONTH
    At the Youth Commonwealth Games on Sept. 9, Graves placed second in high bar, third in rings, and third in parallel bars. The Canadian team placed second overall. This also marked the first international competition for Graves. He was nominated by Gymnastics Saskatchewan. Read More
