Sport tourism is becoming increasingly popular in the province as more and more national and international events are coming to the province. Sask Sport Inc. provides access to a variety of upcoming events in the province through the Saskatchewan On-Line Events Guide. The listings ensure that our website viewers are up-to-date on all of the latest sporting events and happenings in the province. You will also find information on sport tourism and Tourism Saskatchewan's event calendars. This section will also enable event hosts to submit their events to the website.

    Major sport event visitors spent $43.8 million in Saskatchewan during 2009

    Statistics in a report released today by Sask Sport Inc. identify a clear economic benefit of amateur sporting events to the Saskatchewan economy. The report, Estimated Visitor Expenditures of Regional, National and International Sporting Events, indicates that expenditures at 47 major amateur sporting events in Saskatchewan in 2009 topped $43.8 million.

    Note: Sport events which did not receive funds from Sask Sport Inc. are not included in this analysis. This report, therefore, provides only a snapshot of estimated visitor expenditures generated by just this one segment of sport events that have been hosted in Saskatchewan.
