The following athletes have been nominated for the Sask Sport Inc. January Athlete of the Month Award.

• Paige Lawrence, 17, and Rudi Swiegers, 20, Kennedy. This figure skating pair captured the silver medal in junior pairs at the BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships in Vancouver, BC. Due to this accomplishment, they were named alternates for the Junior World Figure Skating Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria. They were nominated by Skate Canada Saskatchewan.
• Stuart Twardzik, 17, Big River. At the Canadian National Cadet and Junior Boxing Championships in Windsor, ON, Twardzik won the gold medal in the 75 kg open category. Due to this accomplishment, he will compete as a member of Team Canada at an international competition in England in April, 2008. Twardzik was nominated by the Saskatchewan Amateur Wrestling Association.
