Nominees announced for Sask Sport Inc. September Athlete of the Month Award
The following athletes have been nominated for the Sask Sport Inc. September Athlete of the Month Award:
- Kaylyn Kyle, 19, Saskatoon. As a member of Canada's Under 20 National Soccer Team, Kyle competed at the Four Nations Tournament in Chile, where the team won the championship. Kyle played for 89 minutes in all three games of the tournament. Due to this accomplishment, Kyle will compete at the Under 20 World Cup and possibly the Senior World Cup. He was nominated by the Saskatchewan Soccer Association.
- Ilana Duff, 22, Bradwell. At the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, Duff won a bronze medal in the 100m, had a second CR place finish in the 400m, a fifth place in the 200m and a fifth CR place in the 400m. She was nominated by the Saskatchewan Wheelchair Sports Association.
- Alex Wrubleski, 24, Regina. A member of the Canadian National Team, Wrubleski placed ninth at the Road World Championships in Italy. She was the top North American finisher and equaled her placing from the previous year. She was nominated by the Saskatchewan Cycling Association.
