Sport Organizations
The purpose of provincial sport governing bodies (PSGBs) is to foster, develop, promote and regulate the playing and officiating of their sport. Provincial sport organizations provide professional guidance, ensure safety, provide insurance, set rules, raise money, acquire sponsorships and train athletes, coaches and officials. A PSGB is responsible for the overall development of its sport, from grassroots to high performance.
In addition to the PSGBs, there are provincial multi-service agencies that are members of the federation and provide services to the sport community. These organizations also provide collective services that enhance sport development of the PSGBs.
Some of these sport organizations are located in the Administration Centres for Sport, Culture and Recreation, which are located in Regina and Saskatoon. The Centres provide convenient, quality office space, administrative services and other common support services at the lowest possible cost.
